This KEP proposes enhancing the Kubernetes scheduler to update a Pod's status with a descriptive message when a PreEnqueue plugin rejects it. When a Pod is rejected at this early stage, it currently remains in a generic Pending state with no direct feedback in its status, making observability and debugging difficult. By reflecting the rejection reason in the Pod's status (and emitting a corresponding event), cluster administrators and users will gain immediate insight into why a Pod is not being scheduled.
