The read-only graph tools the answering agent and the MCP server call, run directly. Pick a tool, fill its parameters, and read the Cypher template, the rows, the evidence records and the traversed paths it returns. No language model is involved.
Resolve free text to graph entities: KEPs (by number, title or summary), people (GitHub login), SIGs, feature gates, issues, pull requests and README sections. Exact key matches come first (match='exact'), then full-text hits (match='fulltext'). If nothing matches exactly, identifier-like input is split into words and searched again (match='nearest'): a nearest match is NOT the thing asked for, only the closest existing entity. match='historical' means a feature gate that no kep.yaml declares any more; its formerly_declared_by lists which KEP declared it and when. KEP rows include their current feature gates and owning SIG. Use this first to get keys.
